NGC Greens:

With all of the snow cover this winter, it was a challenge, but we were able to accomplish a few winter projects.  Our tree project for increasing sunlight on fairways has continued this year.  Past work has helped us grow healthier turf on fairways where we had struggled with too much shade.  We focused on three areas this year.

1.  the right side of the 5th fairway

2.  the landing area on the 6th fairway

3.  the left side of the 8th fairway

Another long-awaited project (3 years) was some tree removal behind the first green and second tee.  NSTAR has been working on removing trees and brush that have been growing too close to the power lines.  This has given us the opportunity to beautify these areas with some low-growing, flowering plants and trees.

Spring is here!  The days are getting longer and warmer and the grass will be getting greener.  So, shine up your clubs and get out your ball dent tool.  We look forward to seeing you soon.
